It is a very simple question, and yet the majority of people today
have absolutely NO IDEA why they have been put on the earth! And I
am talking about Christians, too! Day after day we go through the
motions of jobs we can't stand, praying that God will give us
increase and bless the works of our hands. But, is this what He
called us to do? Are our hands working to further the Kingdom of
God, or have we been settling for second best, driven by fear of
lack and want?
Each one of us has been given gifts and callings, and a unique part
to play in God's plans in the earth. What is your purpose? Why are
you here? Perhaps you have always had a heart for children, but you
have been working in a bank for many, many years, totally
unfulfilled in your job. Easy answer. You have a God-given gift
with children, and you will find fulfillment when you use that
gift! Maybe you can't just quit your bank job (yet), but you can
take steps to get involved with children's ministries or community
organizations.
Think about it. Pray about it. If you don't know your gifts or
purpose, ask God! He will tell you. Just get quiet and listen. It
is already in you heart!
Just listen, and then do it!
